Ms. Noemi Perez Seymour DEM-Ken
Noemi Perez Seymour transferred to Clayton State University after completing her freshman year at Western Michigan University. She was part of the first group of students to receive a Bachelor of Arts in the inaugural Teacher Education program at Clayton State University. She taught 6th grade language arts, social studies, and reading at Edwards Middle School for five years and at Davis Middle School for five years before becoming a Middle School Graduation Coach. She earned her Master’s degree in School Counseling in 2010. Transferring to Heritage High has been very rewarding to her since she was able to see her middle school students complete their high school education. Mrs. Seymour enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.

Ms. Nancy Turney Ker-Rios
Ms. Turney graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education with a minor in health education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where she was a starter for the Division II Lady Cougars basketball team. After graduation she taught and coached in Illinois where she also earned her graduate degree in Human Development Counseling from University of Illinois at Springfield. Shortly after earning her degree she moved to Georgia and began working as a Heritage High School counselor. Since that time she has become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Life Coach. Ms. Turney enjoys working with students and their families. In addition she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, running, and working in her yard. One of her favorite mantras is by an unknown author: “Do you live in love or do you live in fear?” |
Mr. Steve Brown RIS-Z
After graduation from high school, I attended Rochester Community College in Rochester Minnesota and earned my AA degree in Education in 1978. Next, I attended the University of Northern Iowa and earned my BA degree in Psychology in 1980. After working for a year and a half at the Georgia Outdoor Therapeutic Program in Cleveland Georgia as a Residential Counselor I attended the University of Georgia and earned my Masters in Education in School Counseling and my Teaching Certification in Psychology in 1984. After receiving my Master’s Degree, I worked at Hillside Residential Treatment Center in Atlanta as a Behavior Specialist. In 1986, I moved to Jacksonville Florida and took a job as a School Counselor at Southside Junior High School and coached soccer and track. In 1990, I moved to Washington Georgia and worked at Washington Wilkes Middle School as a School Counselor in 1991, I had the opportunity to move to Conyers Georgia and work as a School Counselor at Rockdale County High School while attending the University of Georgia to earn my Educational Specialist degree in School Counseling . In 1995, I transferred to Heritage High School and helped graduate the classes of 1999, 2003, and 2007. In 2007, I took employment as a School Counselor at Alcovy High School in Covington. In 2011, I decided to come back and work at Heritage High School where I enjoy working with the students. I have been working with adolescents for over 30 years and plan on continuing to help students challenge themselves to achieve their highest aspirations.

Mrs. Carol Wilson Career Center Coordinator
Carol Wilson has been a member of the Heritage family since 1987. In 1994, she accepted the position as Career Center Coordinator for Heritage High School. She enjoys working with students and providing them with the resources they need to pursue their college and postgraduate dreams. She loves to hear from former students who proudly share their accomplishments and goals they are currently achieving in their careers. It makes her extremely proud to know that she has made a difference in the lives of numerous students.
